Trivia:
- Both covers were designed by Danny's wife, designer Grainne White. The US cover is actually a composite of three different photos.
- An early working title for this project was Stellar Nights.
- Samples taken from old tapes were used to include the late Ronnie Ross on the album. The tapes had been languishing in Danny's closet for twenty years! "Ronnie's Samba" was also dedicated to his memory.

It's important to note that much of the songwriting process on Matt's Mood was collaborative. Often Mark would come up with a name or an idea and send Basia off with it, and she would then develop the lyrics, to give an example (the exception being "Say The Words" which was a Basia/Danny composition).
