Tue night ....
"Same as Monday night, with the exception of the removal of "Prime Time TV" (which was actually discussed during Monday night's performance)
"First encore of "Yearning" was actually requested by an audience member via a note left on stage, so despite having some alternate tracks avail, they did this one again - and was as beautiful as ever.
"I must mention the stunning flower arrangement that Krysia carried all the way from Poland for Basia - they were truly beautiful.
Wed night .... aka 'Basias Birthday'
"More or less the same as Tuesday night, except the "If Not Now, Then When" intro was turned by 'the band' into 'Happy Birthday' - much to Basia's surprise.
"A cake (with candle) appeared, and some lovely roses passed up on stage from a table on the front row.
"When it came time for the encore, Basia asked for requests, and Krysia shouted loudest with "New Day For You ...." so that replaced "Yearning" as first encore track this evening.
"'Promises' was shouted for too - so we got that one again :-)
"Tonight included some humorous discussion re Football teams - during the introduction to 'Winners' (which was continued after the show too!)
"Peter and Andy Ross were in the audience, and were mentioned several times throughout the evening, as songs they were involved with were done."
"We're over half way there - only 2 more shows to enjoy :-( - Chris 'feeling very honoured to be here' Gibbons"
"Saw Basia and her band live last night in London (Tuesday 29th September) - what a blissful experience! It was my first Basia concert though I have been a fan since purchasing the 'Promises' single back in the 80s, and even Matt Bianco before that.
"It was an evening of beautiful music performed exquisitely by a fantastic band. Basia was sounding beautiful as ever, and her backing singers do a great job on those tight harmonies. She sang a selection of 21 songs from her four solo albums. The venue was incredibly intimate - I was sitting literally with my foot on the side of the stage, and when Basia came off she gave my hand a squeeze! It was her second live show in 5 years and she seemed a little shocked that so many fans had turned up. I was hoping to meet the lady after the show but unfortunately she left due to tiredness. I don't blame her - it will be a busy week.
"I don't want to spoil it for anybody due to go this week by listing songs (whilst we were waiting, the set list for the Monday night was replaced, which indicates that it was slightly different) but you are in for a real treat. [ack, sorry-- LO]
"I spoke to one of the backing singers after the show who confirmed that there is an EP of new music due out. I'll take what I can 'til next time I can see her live." - Seán Kretz
"Just back from Basia and what a truly splendid evening - even the first night jitters/errors were charming although they were too few to mention. [mentions setlist above] "Go For You", "Waters of March" and "New Day For You" were on the list but dropped as it was a long evening - perhaps there's a curfew, who knows? In any event, it was a stellar evening and our girl was in fine form. She's back and the acoustic arrangements were a treat with some songs newly arranged to suit a doo-wop jazzy feel - especially "Cruising" and "Run For Cover".
I'm back on Thursday evening and can't wait!!! Best regards, Dennis Silkwood in London"
[later]"Just home from the Thursday show which was packed. Have been to POTP many times and have never seen it SOLD OUT.
Gone were the opening night jitters of Monday and tonight was a solid set from start to finish - kills me that I can't be there for tomorrow's final show but was blessed to go twice this week so no complaining.
Tonight we got 3, count'em 3, encores: Yearning, Prime Time TV (upon request), Promises. "Reward" was dropped but I think that was the only thing missing from previous nights.
Still smiling and hoping it isn't ages before we get "that girl again" here in London.--Dennis
"What a fantastic night...Basia and Danny were fab along with the rest of the group, Truly a magical evening." - Sarah McCaffery
Really enjoyed the gig on Friday night - hope you saw a few of the shows. Plenty of tracks off the new album some old favourites that would fit into the band format. Miles Away and Drunk on Love were my favourites.
Met fans from Sunderland, Japan, Ireland and New Zealand and Danny and Basia too. --Graham Clark, Keighley, Yorkshire
Recently I was one of the lucky people who got a ticket to see Basia sing at Pizza on the Park. She was absolutely marvelous. Expecting mainly to hear songs from latest album but Basia mixed it up singing both old and new. Two things put a damper on the evening- the expensive prices in the restauraunt and the tube station nearby shut after gig ended. --Stephen Innes
