Cleveland date UPDATED

Basia will be performing at Nighttown in Cleveland on Sunday June 6. There are two shows, at 7pm and at 9pm. Tickets are $40 each, but you must make reservations -it's a restaurant/jazz club.

They haven't advertised it yet but ARE taking reservations! Get on it early!

This is different than the typical Basia concert. As a public service here is the Nighttown Reservation and Seating Policy:

"We only take reservations by calling Nighttown at 216-795-0550. All seats are General Admission. All seating is based on the time that you arrive for the show and based on how many people are in your party and where we have tables of that size. If you are not at Nighttown by 10 minutes before the show, your reservation may be given away to others waiting for a seat.

We don't use any ticketing agency and as a result the ticket price you see is all we charge, saving our customers excessive fees. All tickets are to be paid in cash."

US DATES all on sale now

All announced venues are now on sale.
Interestingly, the show in Clearwater at Ruth Eckerd Hall is co-headlined with guitarist Bernie Williams. Nope, he's not an opener, they both have equal billing.

via the official Basia mailing list:

"We are delighted to, at last, have a substantial list of tour dates in
England, Poland, Austria and the USA.
There may be an additional one or two in America, but we were keen to
get these out there.
We will email the final list later.
Tour arrangements are in full swing and not without their problems,
but every day is one day nearer to the start of our tour and we are
both very excited.

With love,
Basia and Danny"

And some more.

Video bit (in Polish)

Unfortunately TVP has instituted some kind of lock on people watching their videos internationally (why do this?) but if you are in Poland you may be able to see this segment.

Polska Times bit, pre-Warsaw-concert.(In English via Google)
And a similar piece in Gazeta (way to find the worst picture you could, Gazeta)

Thursday's show sold out (London); Poznan sold out

Yes, the Thursday and Friday shows at POTP are now SOLD OUT.

Since tonight's show has already happened or is still going on, that means if you have been sleeping on this, you'd better hustle over there on Tuesday or Wednesday.

Also, it looks like the show in Poznan on October 7 is also sold out. Oh, sorry, SOLD OUT!

For all the shows, hit this! I think you'd better move on getting those tickets. I'm just saying. Oh, also check out Basia's letter to Tokyo on Blue Note Tokyo's page.

We want gig reports and pictures!

With a fresh batch of shows coming, it sounds like a great time to restart gig reports on BasiaWeb. It was great success four years ago, so if anyone would like to post a write up about the shows, let me know. (Bear in mind that I reserve the right to edit for length and grammar if necessary, okay?) I'll create that within the "Live" section tomorrow. There's also a BasiaWeb Fan Fotos group on Flickr where you can upload photos from the shows- that way no one has to wait for me, which I know is a problem.

Have fun, you lucky ducks and duckettes. I expect to live vicariously through your accounts, so get them in! ;)

Basia playing in London this week

Just in case you missed it: Basia begins her weeklong engagement at Pizza on the Park this week. Shows begin Monday and wind up on Friday, and you can get ticket information via this link. (Friday's show is SOLD OUT. Sorry, that looks good IN CAPS!)

Basia is working on her birthday, by the way.  (That would be Wednesday, hint!)

Impressionistic screen capture of Basia and main dude/band ninja Kevin via the "Drunk On Love" video. I shall watch it now since I can't be there in reality (sob!).

Speculation

EDITED 3:59pm EST:
Go Ahead, the promoter for the Polish leg of the tour, is claiming that the shows will be recorded for an upcoming live album. However, Danny says he is unaware of any plans to record any of these shows. Basia recently said in an interview that she hoped there could be a recording made, perhaps this was read as more than wishful thinking. But at present there's no plan to record.

Info re US tour

EDIT: Basia posted in the Comments, "Unfortunately we won’t be making it to the US this year for any shows, but we’re hoping for an American tour in the spring of 2010. We’ll keep you informed."

In the meantime if one is able to travel there's still time to get tickets for the other worldwide shows, and ample info is available at basiasongs.com and here, at right, for those dates.

London, Warsaw tickets ON SALE NOW

Info on Warsaw show tickets in Polish
and in English
EDIT: Read Marek's post in the Comments for more links and info!

Pizza On the Park is also now booking. Call 0845 602 7017 option 6 or 2077343220 (also choose 6)
more on this from mark:
You can book tickets now for the London date via the phone number I gave you. The performances will be listed on the web site, but as they are such a small set up they only do telephone bookings.
They are table only bookings - you don't have to book food. Tickets are not posted or emailed - simply turn up on the night to be allocated a table. Be specific where you want to sit - i.e. near the stage.
They have already sold over half of the tables for the first and last night. I could only get a table for half way back from the stage.
Looks like these are going to be sell outs. Hopefully this will prompt Basia to perform somewhere bigger in London at a later point or attempt a small tour here.
Tables are valid from 7.00pm on the evening with the performance starting 8.30 to 10.30 ish....

Further info on Pizza on the Park show- tickets on sale starting Sat., Aug. 1

London: Pizza on the Park 28th Sep - 2 Oct 2009

Fans have to work hard to get info sometimes! Thanks to Mark Derrington, there's some info about the London shows: "The direct booking number will be 0845 602 7017 (then choose option 6) - tickets will not be on sale [until] 1st August.
There will be 2 options - standing only and meal & concert.
Staff have been inundated with telephone calls an until today were unaware of any performances scheduled. [Ha!-- LO]
You can book tables already for the performance dates but this does not guarantee you seating during the performance or being near the stage."

Also: "The phone line is only going onto voice mail so far today (7/28) when I've tried - maybe it's answered in evenings when the restaurant is open?
However you can leave a message with a booking and your contact number and they'll get back to you.
Seems a pretty antiquated way of booking these days, but then its a small venue..."

Another fan, Gloria, offers: "If you ring POP you're likely to get the restaurant staff who would probably not be well informed on future shows. The booking line number I have is 0044(0) 2077343220 (Select option 6.)."

Okay fans in the UK and Ireland, gear up and sell this place out!

EU/UK/JAPAN TOUR DATES

(via basiasongs.com) The first part of our tour is finally confirmed. Details of how and when to book later, but for a start here are the dates. We’re hoping to tour America after Japan, but no dates for that yet. Unlike the shows we’ve done before, there will be six of us onstage (keyboards, guitar, trumpet, 2 backing vocalists and Basia) so it will be very much an ‘accoustic evening with...’ type of show.

London: Pizza on the Park 28th Sep - 2 Oct 2009

Order It's That Girl Again signed copies! Also, tour update

This is verbatim from the official Basia mailing list (join on Basia's official site, click on the graphic at right to get you there)

Just to let you know that ‘It’s That Girl Again’ has become available by mail order. It features 15 tracks, including two bonus tracks, ‘Oh Mama’ and a new version of ‘Clear Horizon’. It costs £9.99 +P&P and the first 50 CD’s ordered will be signed by Basia.
Follow the link to order.

Also, a lot of Basia's Polish friends were asking about our providing a Polish translation to the songs on 'It's That Girl Again', so we have created a new section on our website, showing a loose Polish translation alongside the English lyrics. Go to 'New CD Lyrics' and have a look!

And finally, we are still working towards a possible October/November tour. We will let you know as soon as things get confirmed.

With Love
Basia and Danny

Tour coming. EP may be coming.

So much went by in a whir there that I think a couple very important parts may have been lost in the hoopla:

THERE'S GONNA BE A TOUR!!
THERE'S PROBABLY GOING TO BE A 3-SONG EP!! OF NEW SONGS!!

Ok, just wanted to put that out there. :p

Piotr says, "Regarding the tour Basia mentioned that she will be starting in September and going to the States and the Far Asian countries (inlc. Japan) and Poland. There is also a plan to go to South Africa. She will start the tour with a smaller band and bigger number of back up vocalists (2 of the musicians will sing as well). Some songs need to be rearranged and they will sound more acoustically. The concerts will probably be at smaller venues at first to continue in larger ones with larger band in 2010. If I understood it properly, the record label has plans release so called EP with 3 (new?) songs when Basia goes on tour in fall. I have to come back to the interview when she spoke of EP to get a better understanding... Then there might be the re-release of ITGA in Poland with bonus tracks (Oh mama, Clear Horizon). Basia's songs should also be available for sale through her website, anytime soon."

(also see Krysia's below!)

Hello! If I don't see some comments for this post I will be very disappointed in you all. ;)
