It's time again for Danny to sit in with his bro Peter White and saxophonist Jaared at Pizza Express in Soho, London. It's been about three years since they started doing these shows, and reports always rave about them. I think anyone who has seen Danny play live-- especially during the 2005 tour-- would say that it's something you should definitely check out. More info here.

We first heard about Mark Reilly's upcoming solo project (he being the male singer in Matt Bianco) a couple years ago and were really glad to see some of the new tracks on his MySpace. The one entitled "This Moment" has Danny playing a bit. It's nice stuff all around especially if you enjoy Spanish guitar, so do check it out.Labels: between-album work
Radio Orla will be broadcasting a recording of one of last week's shows— great for all of us who couldn't make it to see Danny play with his bro at Pizza Express. Tune in on Sunday October 29 at 9:00pm UK time for the 'cast.

Danny will be sitting in with the band again in October as Peter White plays more shows at Pizza Express in London, a date in Warsaw (same place Basia played in '94, no less) and a night at a club in the North. For more, see Peter White's site. Clearly this is a second chance for those of you who missed him back in April don't let this one go by!

Thanks to Gloria Cunningham for the report from the shows she attended at Pizza on the Park. Hugely jealous, you will be.Labels: between-album work
Danny will be on keyboards for his brother Peter's week-long engagement at Pizza in the Park in London, from April 12-18. That's next week, hello. I believe the last time Danny performed sans Basia was in the late '90s, so a chance like this doesn't happen very often.

Danny will be on keyboards for his brother Peter's week-long engagement at Pizza in the Park in London, from April 12-18. The band will also include Marc Parnell and Jaared (along with others, surely). It appears one should contact the venue directly for tickets.

Thanks to Mariko, who found a clip of the commercial for the Nissan Teana featuring Basia singing a snippet of "Smooth Operator." When the intro Flash movie pops up, hit 'skip' and wait for the screen to load. When it does, click on Focus CM. Then wait for the clip to load. Got all that? Then go here and again marvel at the amazing alternative universe that is Japan, where a commercial can be cool enough to have Basia covering Sade.

An upcoming Nissan ad, which will only be aired in Japan, features Basia singing a cover of "Smooth Operator." It doesn't include Danny's instrumentation though, and it will not be commercially available.
